original american depression-era c. 1930's antique american medical "castle" surgical instrument sterilizer cabinet salvaged from the old cook county hospital. the freestanding cabnet is comprised of heavy gauge steel with a mostly uniform brushed metal finish. the original black porcelain enameled cast iron two-tier tops are intact. the salvaged sterilizer storage cabinet contains a single thick beveled edge plate glass cabinet door with original faceted black glass pull. the single pull-out drawer is fully functional. the cabinet is in great overall condition. the cabinet was designed and fabricated by the wilmot castle company, new york. measures 16 x 14 x 36 inches
