single late 19th century original and intact fully functional ornamental cast iron interior residential window sash lock designed and fabricated by branford lock works, branford, ct. the refinished lock and keeper have been brushed down to bare metal and sealed with a clear coat lacquer. the pivoting handle is comprised of yellow brass.the keeper is original to the sash lock. salvaged from a chicago two-flat brick residence undergoing demolition. dates to 1885-89. only one original was found in the house. the other windows and/or locks had been altered, removed, etc. measures 1 x 2 1/2 inches.
