early 1920's american industrial moble office typewriter table or stand often used for displaying office equipment (i.e., typewriters), or in some cases, gambling devices such as slot machines. the unique three-legged tripod cast iron base with fanciful cabriole style legs contains a uniform brushed metal finish treated with a clear coat lacquer. the newly added solid hickory wood tabletop with recessed apron is mounted securely against a revolving central shaft or spindle. four angled steel brackets provide additional support and stability. very heavy duty industrial furniture piece. possibly fabricated by the adjustable table co., grand rapids, mi. measures approximately 20 1/4 x 19 3/4 x 38 1/2 inches.
