exceptionall original deeply embossed light brown majolica glazed figural salvaged chicago fireplace tile with female figure. the 6 x 6 inch tile is in great overall condition with no cracks or breaks evident. the allover crazed tile was fabricated by minton, hollins and comapny. the tile was salvaged from a 19th century chicago residence undergoing demolished. minton, hollins & co. were the most famed and prolific manufacturer - for most of the victorian era their tiles were used in the palace of westminster (the uk houses of parliament), us capitol, victoria & albert museum and many other prestigious buildings. the antique salvaged architectural tile is in great overall condition.
