original late 19th century original and intact exterior residential black enameled ornamental cast iron newel post designed and fabricated by the dearborn foundry company, chicago, ills. the black enameled newel post was salvaged from the stoop of a chicago residence undergoing demolition. the base plate contains multiple pre-drilled holes for anchoring against the ground. the cast iron newel post contains surface wear consistent with age. only one available.
