c. 1885-90 original antique american interior residential flush mount swinging door push plate designed and fabricated by the sargent hardware co., new haven, ct. the eastlake style ornamental cast iron door plate contains a unique assemblage of lightly incised abstract floral motifs and geometric shaped. the oversized backplate has been refinished and sealed with a clear coat lacquer. measures approximately 11 1/4 x 2 3/4 inches.
