impressive american industrial low-lying repurposed coffee table featuring a completely refinished custom-built tabletop consisting of recycled old growth pine boards salvaged from a chicago factory (now demolished) constructed around 1900. the four-legged stationary base is made of heavy gauge square tubular steel with unusual pedestal type feet or "shoes." the structurally sound solid wood tabletop is supported by welded joint stretchers and/or bracing. the reinforced steel base has been brushed down to bare metal and sealed with a clear coat lacquer.
