highly stylized and finely crafted museum quality oversized 19th century american victorian era "sunburst" pattern stained glass skylight attributed to the design firm of healy and millet. the elongated oval-shaped interior residential stairwell skylight was salvaged from a notable chicago mansion demolished in the 1960's. the surrounding wood frame and muntins or sash bars are original and structurally sound and stable. a multitude of faceted pink glass jewels accentuate the vibrantly colored flames emanating from the centrally located red disc. the heavily camed sky blue cathedral glass provides a nice contrast against the playfully designed amber flames. the surrounding border consists of segmented ruby red flash glass. hairline cracks evident. general surface wear consistent with age. possibly fabricated by the mcculley & miles company. dates to 1885-88. measures approximately 75 x 27 x 2 inches.
