finely crafted 19th century original and intact american victorian era heavily ornamented exterior residential window guard designed and fabricated by the f.p. smith wire & iron works foundry, chicago, il. the impressive oversized forged iron panel or grille was salvaged from a chicago graystone residence demolished long ago. the densely arranged scrollwork combined with twisted ribbon motifs is visually striking. the large-sized grille was likely fabricated between 1880-85. only one available. measures approximately 40 x 35 inches.
