two matching original 19th century antique american victorian era ornamental cast iron "chicago style" newel post with mostly weathered green enameled finish. the freestanding newel posts were designed and fabricated by the dearborn foundry co., chicago, il. the exterior newel posts feature distinctive embossed ring ball finials resting atop pedimented bases. the newel posts were salvaged from the outdoor stoop of a chicago 19th century victorian brick cottage undergoing demolition. the dearborn foundry manufactured several different sizes of this particular design. originally installed at the stoop landing and reinforced with interconnected tubular iron rails, supported by brackets mounted on the stone treads leading to the entrance door. several cast iron newel posts salvaged from chicago available. priced for the matching newels and two tubular rails.
