original c. 1940's american industrial factory machine shop four-legged stationary stool fabricated by the lyon metallic mfg. co., aurora, il. salvaged from a chicago bridgehouse. the stool is comprised of heavy gauge angled steel with welded joint stretchers at the base of the stool. a unique protruding heel or footrest is original to the stool. the solid maple wood round seat is tightly fastened to the metal base. the slightly contoured backrest is supported by two high tensile strength steel brackets mounted against the stool seat underside. measures 28 inches in height.
