distinctive c. 1900-10 original antique american industrial drilling machine base attributed to the bickford drill company, cincinnati, oh. the repurposed machine base contains a newly added varnished or stained solid ash wood diminutive top with a four-sided recessed apron. the remarkably heavy base is comprised of cast iron with a brushed metal finish sealed in a clear coat lacquer. for added stability, a solid block of steel was welded to the bottom. makes for an ideal occasional table or plant stand. measures 14 x 14 x 35 inches.
