unique and unusual original c. 1930's american industrial no smoking factory notification sign salvaged from the william d. gibson spring factory building located in chicago, il. the single-sided sign is comprised of lightweight tin sheet metal with a baked enameled finish. the sign was likely apart of the "safety in the workplace" campaign found in factories throughout the united states during the depression era. surface wear and discoloration consistent with age. measures 20 x 7 inches.
