very unique and highly unusual c. 1890-1910 american antique ornamental cast bronze "sullivanesque" style flush mount door mail slot possibly fabricated by the yale & towne mfg. co., stamford, ct. the original spring-loaded "letters" slot cover or flap remains in good working condition. the two ends contain matching overlapping geometric design motifs or floral rosettes. uniform surface patina throughout.
