fabricator unknown
largely intact early 20th century antique american wall-mount telescoping pulley bracket possibly used in an old general and/or hardware store. the exact fabricator is not known. the fully adjustable bracket contains a quartered oak wood block base with four pre-drilled holes for mounting against the wall. the two equally sized spoked wheels or pulleys are comprised of gray or "pot" metal. the sheave closest to the base plate contains some damage along the edge, but does not detract in any way from its functionality. the square-shaped tubular steel telescoping swivel arm is fastened to a turned and tapered solid bronze bracket mounted to the base plate. a high tensile strength solid steel tie rod provides additional support. the two spoked sheaves move freely. each and every component has been carefully cleaned and refinished. when fully extended, the swivel bracket measures approximately 57 inches in length.
