original c. 1940's american made industrial chicago commercial building engineering department basement workbench designed and fabricated by lyon metal products inc., aurora, il. the refinished multipurpose workbench contains a stained and sealed rock hard maple wood tabletop with surface wear and tear consistent with age. the two supporting pressed and folded channeled steel bases or legs have been brushed and sanded down to bare metal and sealed with a clear coat lacquer. the smaller-sized workbench retains the original cold-rolled heavy gauge sheet steel undershelf used for additional storage and/or as a footrest. great overall condition. the workbench is structurally sound and stable. measures 48 x 30 x 35.5 inches
