1880s antique american black enameled ornamental cast iron interior residential salvaged chicago fireplace summer cover with matching surround. the two piece assembly was likely fabricated by bridgeford & company, louisville, ky. the screen or grille and surround contains a uniform black enameled finish. no cracks, breaks or repairs evident. salvaged from a chicago two-flat built between 1884-89.
