remarkably intact early 1920's american industrial freestanding sectional filing cabinet designed and fabricated by the globe wernicke co., cincinnati, oh. the modularized cabinet is comprised of six interlocking sections (which includes the crown or header and four-legged base). the original baked green enameled finish remains in excellent condition, considering age. the brass finger pulls, placard holders and cabinet door pulls are original and intact. each component is comprised of heavy gauge pressed and folded steel. three cabinets with slightly different configurations are available. the highly desirable steel office furniture was salvaged from an old courthouse building. the globe-wernicke company was formed as a result of the cincinnati based globe files company (established in 1882) purchasing the minneapolis based wernicke company in 1899. the company is best known for their high end bookcases, desks, and other office furniture. measures approximately 33 x 17 x 51 1/2 inches.
