very unique and finely executed early 20th century antique american exterior figural united states post office building facade terra cotta rondel designed and fabricated by the american terra cotta company, chicago, ills. the intricately detailed feathered bird is slightly embossed or raised against a light blue background with beaded border. the cavities on the backside of the rondel have been thoroughly cleaned, with brick and mortar removed. the distinctive rondel was salvaged from a notable chicago area post office demolished several years ago. only one available.
