original fully functional c. 1950's american heavy cast brass ornamental four-arm interior ceiling chandelier likely designed and fabricated by the moe-bridges co., milwaukee, wisc. the vintage electric light fixture contains four matching brass arms featuring floriated scrollwork and three electric candles with original light brown candle sleeves. the candelabra base light bulbs are concealed by black parchment conical-shaped shades reinforced with steel wire frames. the turned and tapered lamp body, chain and canopy are original and intact. the nicely aged surface patina has been lightly cleaned. the fixture was salvaged from the chicago athletic club annex building. the 12 sockets were likely rewired in the 1980's. the 20-story prairie style chicago athletic association annex (also known as the chicago athletic club addition or "madison building") was designed by the notable chicago-based architectural firm of martin, garden & schmidt. the madison street landmarked high-rise was added to the existing 11-story neo-venetian style chicago club association building constructed in 1893 by architect henry ives cobb. the towering "gardenesque" style red brick and ornamented limestone annex was completed in 1907, with an additional eight floors added in 1925. together the two buildings form an l-shape wrapping around willoughby tower. the annex contained the famous "cherry circle" bar room, lodging, the crystal room, offices and a presidential suite on the 18th floor. measures approximately 29 x 29 x 46 inches.
