very unique and largely intact early 1940's american wpa-era four-wheel (i.e., two large, two small configuration) farm tractor with a naturally aged red paint finish. the wheels, stick shift, steering wheel with column, exhaust pipe and hoses are finished in black. the classic tractor is designed after a simple "open vehicle" featuring two large driving wheels on a large axle. the single upright seat remains intact. the engine is positioned in front of the steering column. two steerable wheels are located directly beneath the engine compartment. the yellow painted headlights are intact. the hand-crafted, wpa art project, was likely modeled after an allis-chambers "model u", built between 1929-52. unidentified artist. sporadic crazed surface paint evident. the highly unique and unusual american folk art piece measures approximately 20 x 14 x 10 inches.
