very unique early american industrial heavy duty cast iron specialized machine stand likely used in a plant that processed meat and/or poultry. the mobile machine stand contained components (since removed) containing "jarvis" manufacturer plaques. the channeled four-legged cast iron base is supported by the original american depression era patented bassick swivel casters comprised of iron, with steel forks. a distinctive octagonal-shaped cast iron platform or desk with slightly raised edges sits upon a tubular-shaped threaded steel pipe. the oversized swiveling u-shaped component contains an early electrical switch box with intact on/off switch. the stand has been brushed and sanded down to bare metal and sealed with a clear coat lacquer. great "repurpose" potential.
