hard to find and highly sought after early 1930's american depression era industrial factory office file clerk or cashier "posture-chair" designed and patented by ernest bacz of detroit, mi. the well-constructed mobile office chair is comprised of folded and pressed cold rolled heavy gauge steel. the highly contoured thin metal saddle seat retains the original fully adjustable back rest that can be set in a number of inclined positions. the seat is supported by a centrally located cylindrical-shaped telescoping post containing closely spaced slots for height adjustment. the base is made of four outstretched legs retaining the original hardened black rubbber bassick swivel casters. the vintage american industrial office chair contains an older green paint finish with typical surface wear. the adjustable office chair was fabricated by the burroughs adding machine company, detroit, mi. base measures 18 x 18 inches, height measures 18 3/4, height with back measures 34 3/4 inches.
