depression era antique american industrial two-drawer compact factory machine shop pressed and folded steel benchtop storage cabinet possibly fabricated by the lyon metallic steel company, aurora, ill. the nicely distressed and/or shopworn cabinet contains two sliding drawers outfitted with the original stamped yellow brass knob pulls. the welded joint steel cabinet is lightweight and portable. salvaged from a south side chicago tool & die factory an machine shop. the distressed orange paint finish is largely worn from the top of the cabinet that was likely used as additional storage or work space. measures 15 3/8 long x 10 1/4 wide x 5 1/4 inches high.
