all original and intact early 20th century american antique ornamental cast iron "st. omer" pattern interior residential doorknob backplate designed and fabricated by the reading hardware company, reading, pa. the decorative passage door backplate contains a uniform darkened brushed metal finish. the protruding collar or thimble and skeleton keyhole are intact and free from damage. measures approximately 9 1/2 x 2 3/4 inches.
