repurposed early 20th century antique american industrial cast iron wood working band saw machine base table with a newly added rock hard maple wood tabletop. the refinished cast iron base was possibly fabricated by henry disston & sons or possibly the duro metal products co., located in chicago, il. the foot-powered band saw machine was sold and distributed by montgomery ward & co., chicago, il. the structurally sound and sturdy iron base side table contains flared or outswept feet with slots designed for fasteners used to anchor the base into the floor. the upper portion of the frame (removed long ago) contained the pulleys, wheels, saw blade and table. manufacturer markings, in the form of deeply embossed lettering, are prominently displayed along the front of the base. the maple top has been sanded and sealed and is fastened tightly to the weighted base. measures approximately 24 x 16 x 28 1/2 inches.
