early 1920's antique american industrial cast iron lathe machine base later used with a simplex typesetting machine. the base was possibly fabricated by the unitype and/or simplex mfg. co., new york city, ny. the intact stationary table contains two matching heavy duty cast iron legs reinforced with two tubular stretchers. the tabletop is comprised of a solid steel deck with apron. a brass identification tag is riveted against the right side of the table. the typesetting machine table has been brushed down to bare metal and sealed with a clear coat lacquer. great overall condition. structurally sound and stable throughout. measures 28 x 36 x 30 1/2 inches.
