original early 1920's vintage american industrial elevated train motorman or conductor stationary stool fabricated by the heywood-wakefield co., boston, ma. the pedestal type stool contains a simple unornamented cast iron base with manufacturer markings embossed along the flange. the slightly sunken center solid white oak wood stool seat is original and intact. the train car stool has been refinished and treated with a clear coat lacquer. seat height measures 21 inches.
