original early 1920's antique american industrial salvaged chicago interior factory freight elevator up/down manually-operated switch case or enclosure with riveted joint bronze manufacturer's name plaque. the cast iron housing has been brushed down to bare metal and sealed with a clear coat lacquer. the round elevator switch case was designed and manufactured by the elevator company of america, chicago, ills. the bronze medallion with raised or embossed lettering remains in great overall condition. the factory building from which the elevator component was salvaged from is currently undergoing demolition.
