single antique american industrial freestanding copper-plated cast iron "otis elevator controller" motor plaque designed and fabricated by or for the otis elevator company, new york city, ny. the long and narrow single-sided plaque was salvaged a crane brothers factory building addition housing a rooftop engine room. the lightly incised yellow brass plaque containing motor specifications remains intact. the angled back elevator sign has been brushed down to bare metal and sealed with a clear coat lacquer. the original copper-plated finish remains in great overall condition, considering age. the early 20th century salvaged chicago sign plaque was removed along with several other elevator-related items shortly before the building addition was demolished. measures 18 x 2 1/2 x 2 1/2 inches
