original and intact c. 1930's american depression era mobile interior hotel room highboy dresser fabricated by the simmons mfg .co., kenosha, wisc. the refinished multi-drawer cabinet is comprised of heavy gauge cold-rolled steel with a uniform brushed metal finish. the pressed and folded metal dresser was likely designed by albert witike in the late 1920's or early 1930's. the four turned and tapered pedestal style legs are structurally sound and stable. the original pressed steel drawer pulls or knobs are in great condition. the cabinet has been sealed with a cleat coat lacquer to prevent surface corrosion. retains the original circular label (often found on the interior left side side of the top drawer). simmons specialized in metal bed frame fabrication primarily for hospitals, hotels and other commercial settings. measures approximately 32 x 19 x 38 inches.
