hard to find all original antique american industrial fully functional articulating machine shop task lamp designed and patented by albert runkel of milwaukee, wi. the factory machine shop task lamp fixture is comprised of light gauge sheet steel, rectangular in section, with "universal" joints allowing the lamp to be placed securely in any position. the lamp cord is enclosed within the fixture, passing through each of the many points of articulation. the thumb nut and dished washers give the joints great holding power. the fixture is equipped with original base plate for wall or ceiling installation. the baked olive green enamel standard finish remains largely intact. the fixture was fabricated by the american fixture co., milwaukee, wi. the black enameled parabola-shaped shade with rolled rim is original to the fixture. the american fixture company typically furnished cone, pear or parabola-shaped shades or reflectors with a frosted aluminum interior finish to accompany the fixture. measures 29 x 3 1/2 x 6 1/2 inches.
