one of four original highly sought after early 1920's freestanding antique american industrial "sani" factory lunch hall stationary table base designed and fabricated for the sani products company, sani building, chicago, il. sani products was formed to merchandize the products of the marietta mfg. co., if indianapolis, ind., and the chicago hardware foundry company, of north chicago, ill. the "no 314" sectional eight-seat swing out type table base was salvaged from the farley and loetscher manufacturing company, dubque, ia. the heavily reinforced industrial table contains three distinct cast iron bases or legs interconnected by a two robust ladder-like girders or stretchers. the simple yet elegantly designed iron swivel brackets move freely in place. the rectangular-shaped tabletop would be bolted firmly along the underside of the opposed bases, marked either "e" for end or "c" for center. each and every cast iron component has been carefully cleaned, brushed and treated with a clear coat lacquer. the original marble-like solid vitrolite glass "sani" tabletops are rarely found with the tables. urban remains carries the largest selection of authentic "sani" swing-out factory tables in the country. please contact about additional tables containing multiple, interchangeable configurations. the tables were constructed in sections of 8, 12, 16 and 24 feet, with each section containing 4 seats. the fine grain cast iron bases were typically finished in a heavy white coat enameled finish. seats and tabletop were not added so one could customize these features to their liking. this table, and other configurations offered by urban remains are all original period pieces that were fabricated several decades ago in the united states. we have both unfinished and refinished arrangements. none of the components are reproduction. available with and without wood top. please email or call if you have any futher questions.
