thoroughly cleaned and refinished early 1920's cook county hospital examination room stationary supply room cabinet or workstation designed and fabricated by the bernstein mfg. co., philadelphia, pa. the freestanding cabinet is comprised of cold-rolled furniture sheet steel reinforced with riveted and welded joints. the cabinet contains three pull-out drawers with original yellow brass knob pulls. the diminutive hinged cabinet door contains a clear glass pane with a centrally located lightly etched cross. the cabinet or desk top contains a newly added varnished wood raised panel, concealing a large opening that likely contained an mechanical instrument. the brushed metal finish has been sealed with a clear coat lacquer. 16" x 32" x 30".
