early 20th century antique american medical adjustable height stationary stool with a bent steel three-legged base. the adjustable swivel seat with threaded steel rod contains a uniform metallic silver enameled finish. the surgeon stool was manufactured by the sharp & smith co., specializing in surgical instruments, deformity apparatus and surgeons' appliances. the fanciful curvaceous tubular legs are reinforced with an all-welded joint heel ring. retains the original stamped brass manufacturer plaque. seat width 13". height adjusts 19" to 24".
