c. 1900's american antique ornamental stamped or pressed steel "como" pattern interior residential sliding door backplate or escutcheon salvaged from a chicago three-flat residence. the decorative backplate was fabricated by the p. & f. corbin co., new britain, ct. the backplates contains a recessed "cup" handle with skeleton keyhole. surface wear and tear consistent with age. measure approximately 7 1/2 x 2 3/8 inches.
