original c. 1900's american industrial chicago city street lighting bracket, comprised of both straight and curved steel pipe with wrought iron channel iron scrollwork. the bracket as likely fabricated by or for the george cutter co., south bend, ind. the bracket would likely have supported a 24-inch porcelain enameled radial bowl reflector with an "alba" diffusing globe. cable clamps above the canopy would hold the fixture to the span wire, fastened to poles on either side of the street. the tubular pipe bracket contains a mostly uniform black enameled finish. all original and intact. measures 32 1/2 x 28 1/2 inches.
