hard to find and highly desirable c. 1900's antique american industrial "no. 2323" stationary draftsman or drafting table designd and fabricated by the eugene dietzgen co., principal factory, chicago. the heavy duty cast iron three-legged stationary base features fanciful cabriole style legs in great overall condition. the raised edge wood drawing board contains an adjustable instrument shelf or ledge, originally used for storing brushes, pens, inkstands, etc. the opposed pull-out drawers mounted along the underside of the ledge are intact with original knob pulls. the rack and pinion movement allows the table to be tilted or raised at any angle desired. the table and base remains sound and stable. the faucet or dial-shaped handles are in great working condition. the cast iron base has been brushed down to bare metal and sealed with a clear coat lacquer. workspace measures 26 1/2 x 6 inches, back shelf measures 6 inches deep, 46 inches max height
