refinished antique american industrial fully adjustable three-legged drafting or drawing table likely fabricated by the eugene dietzgen co., principal factory, chicago, il. the fanciful weighted cast iron cabriole style tripod base has been brushed and sanded down to bare metal and sealed with a clear coat lacquer. the tabletop or drawing board is comprised of solid quartered oak wood with beveled edges. the telescoping tubular wrought iron or steel extension is tightly affixed to the underside of the drawing board. the disc-joint provides ultimate flexibility for achieving desired angle, etc. the late 19th or early 20th century drawing board was salvaged from an engineering department storeroom located at the university of chicago. base measures 21 inches, table height measures 39 inches, table top measures 26 inches x 21 inches.
