remarkably well-built original c. 1915-20 highly desirable american commercial students' chemistry laboratory workbench or desk designed and fabricated by the kewaunee mfg. co., adrian, mi. the nicely aged "island" laboratory table is comprised largely of solid oak wood throughout. the highly sought after lab table was offered by kewaunee and others in a variety of configurations and finishes. the original angled wood drawer handles are intact. the center section or base is missing the original opposed swing-out stools that were supported by original cast iron brackets. the early 20th century american laboratory table was savaged from an old chicago public technical school. the lab table is 35.5" tall, 71" wide, and 26.75" deep. the center support is 28.5" wide and 26.75" deep.
