very unique and hard to find american industrial completely collapsible "utilatree" coat rack designed and patented in 1932 by lothar r. ziefferer. the portable coat rack or "costumer" contains a multitude of foldable components for support of headware or footwear articles. the oversized button-end pivoting hooks are comprised of cast iron. the tubular metal stand is supported by a three-legged tripod base with distinct ball feet. the coat stand contains two knurled edge friction dials used for securing the stand in a rigid upright position. any and all components have been refinished and treated with a clear coat lacquer. measures 71 inches in height.
