very rare original and intact privy dug deep cobalt blue soda bottle manufactured for philadelphia bottler patrick conway. the front body is embossed "p. conway / bottler / philada" with raised end-letter 'a' in the abbreviated 'philadelphia'. the reverse side is embossed "no 8 hunter st / [ornament] /108 filbert / mineral water" with raised letter 'o' in the abbreviated 'number'. the low, steep shoulders and narrow long neck are finished with an applied blob top that exhibits asymmetry and significant whittling. the neck has crudities like seeding and stretch marks as well. surface discoloration and irridization are typical of dug bottles, and all crudities are consistent with age and date of manufacture. the base features a moderate kickup from manufacture with iron pontil.
