hard to find and highly collectible cornflower blue glass iron pontiled soda or mineral water bottle manufactured for bottler george lomax, chicago, il. the body has a long tapered neck, sloping shoulders and applied blob top. the raised block lettering (note the misspelling) reading "c. lomax" and "chicago" are embossed in the center of the bottle within a debossed plate with round corners. the bottle features typical crudities including bubbles in the body along with some slight chipping at the lip the somewhat malformed and wobbly bottle has a nice asymmetrical base. the early chicago soda or mineral water bottle contains a base that is deeply rounded and features a domed kick up with residue from the iron pontil.
