single all original and intact ornamental 19th century cast iron wall-mount bracket backplate typically used with reflector type kerosene lamps. the bracket was likely fabricated in the early 1870's by the russell & erwin mfg. co., new britain, ct. the multi-faceted ornamented bracket has been brushed down to bare metal and sealed with a clear coat lacquer. the two opposed screw holes are for mounting purposes. measures 2 1/8 x 4 1/4 inches.
