all original and intact c. 1870's antique american decorative cast iron arch top fireplace summer cover and matching surround designed and fabricated by henry dibblee & co., chicago, il. the combination surround and perforated summer cover were salvaged from a chicago italianate residence demolished long ago. the removable summer cover features intricate design motifs throughout. the black enameled finish is mostly uniform. measures approximately 30 x 32 inches and the surround opening measures 19 inches.
