completely refinished refinished c. 1930's american antique industrial factory office typewriter design rescued from an old industrial chemical company. the "tanker" style stationary desk contains a centrally located manually operated drop down panel that converts into a spacious single compartment for typewriter placement. the sides are flanked by two identical modular units consisting of three equally-sized sliding drawers. two pull-out table leaves provide additional space for writing materials. the desk originally contained a poorly maintained wood grain "faux" finish with linoleum top. the uniform brushed metal finish has been sealed with a clear coat lacquer. the original cast brass drawer handles and tabletop edging and feet are completely intact and compliment/accentuate the steel finish. the industrial desk was likely fabricated by the englewood desk co., chicago, il. excellent overall condition. measures approximately 50 x 32 1/4 x 30 1/4 inches.
