remarkable c. 1920's hand-crafted original and intact formed and pressed heavy gauge cold-rolled sheet steel factory machinist's tool box. unidentified maker, although likely fabricated "in-house" by a machinist and/or factory worker. the incredibly durable and well-built box contains two oversized riveted joint strap hinges flanking a centrally located solid steel drop handle fastened to an all-riveted back plate. the lockable hasp is in great condition and contains ample space for most padlocks. the portable cabinet's interior is rather spacious and free from stationary or removable dividers. the overlapping folds on each side of the box are strengthened with a single rivet. the tool box has been brushed down to bare metal and sealed with a clear coat lacquer.
