elaborate designed c. 1890's american ornamental cast iron barbershop coat rack base likely fabricated by the fred w. stecher co., cleveland, oh. contains four detachable outswept legs with pierced filigree and claw feet. the original nickel-plated finish was painted over long ago with an old metallic paint finish with surface crazing evident. natural surface wear evident.
