pair of all original 19th century antique american victorian era salvaged chicago interior building atrium staircase newel post caps or finials designed and fabricated by helca ironworks, new york city, ny. the two richardsonian romanesque new post caps are pyramidal-shaped with allover intricate leafage on all for sides. the two staircase caps contain holes used to mount them tightly against the newel posts. the heavy casy iron finials have been brushed down to bare metal, with traces of the original paint found in the deeply recessed regions. the iron newel caps have been sealed with a clear coat lacquer. the exact chicago commercial building from which they were salvaged from is not known. priced individually.
