late 1840's original and completely intact antique american teal green glass mineral water iron pontiled bottle manufactured for andrew mcfarland of philadelphia, pa. the glasshouse fabricator is not known. the deeply embossed lettering is clear and legible, despite the bottle being tumbled. the mcfarland mineral water bottle was discovered in a philadelphia residential privy pit. the applied blob finish or collar remains in great condition, considering age. the base of the cylindrical bottle retains the original iron pontil mark or scar (containing no graphite) is largely intact. the mid-20th century american bottle exhibits allover crudity with several seeds or bubbles and straw marks (the latter likely from patination). the mold seams are slightly visible, but have worn considerably. very little, if any, surface wear in the form of scratches, fleabites, etc. fine 1840's antique american mineral water bottle.
